Our Story

They say some of the best things happen in the later years, and for us that couldn’t be more true. Meeting later in life, we both came to the table with full experiences, with stories of life’s adventures, and having navigated its curve balls. We had a settled sense of who we were so there was no rush and no pressure. It was just the simple joy of getting to know one another. What started as easy conversation and shared laughter quickly grew into something much deeper. Within that first year, we realized that while we had waited a long time to find each other, the timing was actually perfect. Our first year together was defined by a sense of ease and an undeniable chemistry. We navigated the trials of a new relationship with a comfort that felt like we’d known each other for much longer than we had. To celebrate the journey of those first twelve months, we marked our one-year anniversary with Scott skydiving for the first time. That was the also the day he proposed, turning a one year milestone into the beginning of a lifelong commitment in the name of love. As we look toward our wedding this April, please join us as we celebrate that it is never too late for a new beginning.

Dress Code: Black Formal &amp; Fabulous We’ve chosen a Black Formal theme for our big day and we want you to go all out! Consider this your invitation to dress up, wear "all the things," and have fun with your favorite black formal pieces. Just a heads-up: Lake Tahoe in April likes to show off all four seasons at once, potentially swinging from the snowy 30's to the sunny 70's in the same day. Since we’ll be celebrating lakeside for the ceremony and again later in the evening, please bring a glamorous heavy coat so you can stay warm while looking epic beside one of the outdoor fire pits!

Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is the closest major airport to the wedding venue. Many vehicle rental options are available at the airport. Please keep in mind that 4WD (or at least AWD) is highly recommended due to the possibility of snow up at Lake Tahoe (yes, even in April)! In optimal conditions, driving time from the airport to the North Tahoe Event Center is approximately one hour.

Firelite Lodge

We will provide shuttle service between the Firelite Lodge and the North Tahoe Event Center. Please note, this is the only pick-up/drop off location available for our shuttle. It will be available on-call throughout the day of the event. The shuttle will depart the Firelite Lodge at 3:15pm. The last shuttle will leave the North Tahoe Event Center at 11:00pm.

Private Hotel Shuttle Service

Parking is available to our guests who stay at the Firelite Lodge. Our guests will have access to our private shuttle. Please note, parking at the North Tahoe Event Center is EXTREMELY limited and the nearest available parking may be several blocks away on residential streets. Therefore, we strongly urge you to stay with us at the Firelite Lodge where parking is readily available and you will have full shuttle access.
